ADDICTION by Ayako: Eyeshadow and Blush Swatches

I really wasn’t kidding when I said my ADDICTION to ADDICTION was growing ;).

ADDICTION by Ayako is a department store Japanese brand owned by KOSE Cosmetics that remains largely elusive to the rest of the world as it is available only at select counters within Japan and a handful of online retailers (though at greatly inflated prices). Since not everyone has access to a counter, and I know I have myself spent many hours googling swatches, I thought I’d swatch my entire collection on paper – haven’t quite worked out the best way to swatch on myself yet!

Since I tend to buy my eyeshadow in lots or pre-used palettes (and none of them are ever labelled) some of these were educated guesses – and I was too lazy to re-swatch an entire sheet of paper once I’d gone through all of them and weeded out duplicates so please excuse the messiness!

ADDICTION offers their eyeshadows in different finishes, including the new cream shadows which are said to be waterproof! Atypical of most Japanese lines, there are a good assortment of satin, matte, metallic and shimmer shades.

(S)  – Sparkle Shades  – these mostly appear in highlight/brow bone shades
(P) Pearl Shades: My favourite finish, pigmented with a hint of shimmer
(ME) – Metallic Shades – next favourite. If you are buying based on product pics only, your best bets for pigmentation are the P or ME shades in my opinion
(M) – Matte Shades

Unfortunately, the sparkles and shade nuances don’t come across as well on paper. I hope to redo this post someday… when I have time and lighting to do this all again!

The ADDICTION powder blushes come in two finishes, matte, and with sparkles. Most of mine are matte 🙂

I only hope the line expands and adds even more colours!
