2011 was a big year for brand and self exploration for me! I travelled (a LOT) and purchased a lot, and met a lot of new people that helped me learn more about myself… and in relation to this blog, about my beauty preferences! Hard to believe that the first month of 2012 has already gone by as I type this entry up (yikes!) so I better get a move on

I rarely do these, but this post was stalled for so long because I wanted to finish my Chanel foundation before opening my ADDICTION Tinted Moisturizer. Since I finished the Chanel Teinte Innocence I thought I’d try the ADDICTION TM out since I’ve only heard raves about its performance especially in hot climates, and I’m headed overseas soon!

It’s rare for me to wear one brand ENTIRELY (except for primer, eyeliner, and mascara here) so this was an interesting experience I’m loving everything so far, and after thinking about it, I knew that despite my rants and raves with other brands, ADDICTION had to be my brand for 2011 (Armani was a very VERY close second, as you can probably imagine).

I had grand blogging intentions but unfortunately work (and life) got into the way – planning a trip to Asia for March and working so that I can GO on said trip to Asia has taken up most of my time!! But I wanted to post before the end of month, and as it is Chinese New Year this weekend… close enough, right?

I know my FOTDs have been few and far between for the last few months as I let my skin recover from non-stop traveling but this is the look that I’ve been wearing pretty much everywhere because I’m lazy and a lot of the holiday stuff didn’t wow me eyeshadow wise:

There’s still a couple of dry patches on my cheeks but overall my skin is (thankfully) back to where it was! Look breakdown at the end of the post (you’ll have to put up with me rambling)

I know, I know, you are probably thinking I am just trying to milk this for all the traffic I can, and I *AM*, but don’t you notice something a LITTLE bit different about the above picture?

Your eyes do not deceive you, I am posting this again! Mostly for reference for all the lovely American beauty addicts out there who are searching for comparisons, I’ve re-swatched my entire collection of Infallibles which includes the original release, the Fall 2011/Summer 2011 release, and the most recente Winter/Holiday 2011 release. I’ve also included shade names and numbers for the 4 Infallibles I don’t have (that are on their way to me) and comparisons to the American formulation!

For reference, all of the L’Oreal Colo[u]r Infallible Eyeshadows I own are Made in Italy and were purchased in the UK, Canada, and Singapore. Several times I had colours CP’d for me that were later (much later) released in Canada, but the ingredients and labels for these were all the same (the Canadian labels also have French translations on them).

Last weekend, before Calgary was rocked by a giant windstorm, the bestie (Kelsie) and I finally had a Saturday where NEITHER of us had plans so of course I jumped on it and planned a girly day, starting with makeovers at the NARS Counter at our local Holt Renfrew and ending in the best way, with time spent at my house catching up on Kame’s drama Youkai Ningen Bem! Needless to say it was a girly, girly day, and she has only become girlier in the time we’ve spent apart. It’d been about 6 weeks since our schedules had last matched up but it was like picking up where we’d left off…

Except now she wears dresses

My Armani Counter (and Holt Renfrew) is Better Than Yours!

So I may possibly spend a little too much time at my Holt Renfrew for someone who doesn’t even work in the downtown core, but in my defense it’s a nice mall to spend the day at when I’m off during the week since there are enough sporadic free Wi-Fi spots and there’s lots of department and makeup stores for me to while time away in.

Last Saturday I was invited to Giorgio Armani’s Runway event celebrating the launch of their new Armani Eyes to kill Stretch Mascara! I got to spend the afternoon with the lovely Miriam (above) who did my makeup. As it was Halloween weekend we decided to do another green version of my Envy look!

For Halloween my dear Curator tagged a group of 7 of us with the challenge of 7 deadly sins. I chose Envy, wanting to play around with green.

I’m sure that the beauty blogging scene has probably hit saturation on these lovely little shadows but now that my collection is as complete as I can make it (pending new releases) and I have finished enabling all of my beauty friends into buying them, I figured it was time for a round-up

Also, someone else should benefit from my need to complete sets of things. Haha. Like the Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Eyeshadows, once I started buying the L’Oreal Colour Infallible Eyeshadows I had to own all of them . They are actually spelled COLOR but I am Canadian and I will be using the ‘u’ throughout this post.

Vacations are absolutely exhausting! I’m typing this entry up sitting in EWR as there is no wifi but it’s given me a chance to reflect on my last week and go ‘Whew!’ at everything I’ve been able to do
